Has anyone used adodge (chrysler) fuel injection system (TBI) in a conversion ? I am getting ready to get a new service van and my old one will probably fetch more in parts than whole. I was thinking of pulling the FI system off for my jeep as the motors are close in size anyway 360 in the van and 351w in the jeep. The van is a 1990. any insights on this system.

Jim do yourself a big favor and don't. Use GM TBI. The GM system is much more servicable and has more support.

Yea I know the GM stuff is much more avail. I was just wondering about any other expieriance out there with the dodge stuff. Its been great in the van never had any problems except a fuelpump and its almost at 200,000 miles.

I'm sure the Dodge system works just fine in it's original application. Where you will have trouble is doing adjustments to make the system work right with your 351.
To answer your question though, no I haven't used the Dodge system.

Never worked on the dodge crap. Usually is pretty realiable. If you have all the stuff its at least worth a shot IMO

Why don't you put ford injection on it Jim?
Just looking at the idea of using what I have. I will be lucky to sell the van for a few hundred so I may just part it and keep the FI stuff

Thats my thought as well. Just looking to see if anyone had knowledge of the system and how much of a pain the wiring would be :eeek:

You will need all the wireing. and computer, i have it if you need it. should work well. the later dodge injection is a return less system it wont work correctly unless every thing is seal tight tank lines gas cap none vented high psi clamps. U can do it and make it work great,
