...owns a lifted Burgundy ZR2 S-10 Blazer that wheels at Tellico?

edit: Found out it is John Bodie. anyone know him?

Evidently he claims to ride with Hardline. This is the reason Tellico is under fire.

I forwarded this to the Upper Tellico ORV Project Coordinator (see below) and Rick Devore (Law Enforcement/Tellico) along with John Bodies address and phone number. You guys might want to send her email as well voicing your concerns about this. Simply friggin ridiculous that someone who MUST know the fire that Tellico ius under would do such a moronic task.

Nope, don't know him. One thing too is we're Hardline Crawlers, apparently there's a Hardline OFFROAD out there as well that's giving us a bad name. :-\

Ok, his name is John Bodie. Anyone know him? Looks like he's gonna be getting a call from the US Forestry Service since I also now have his phone number.

Did you watch the video and have you ever wheeled Tellico? If not, I will explain.
I have never wheeled Tellico, I watched the video. What is the problem?

I watched an 07 Vid... I must not have seen the one your all talking about cause there wasnt "his" zr2 on the vid I watched

Tellico has recently undergone a closure of several trails because of sediment runoff entering the waterways. The USFS has been ordered to close down certain trails. SFWDA heads up the maintenance at Tellico and spends tons of money to keep the trail system open and functional, so late last year and this year, they installed a ton of sediment traps to catch runoff and hopefully appease the Forestry Serivce's complaints of runoff. Well, this dork in the video thought it might be a good ideo to wheel in the sediment traps. Hide and watch, this will get hairy. This is major taboo.

It's the link I posted in the original post. It was taken last week at Tellico.

Chris thanks for educating us outside of the area. I understand now. Just looked like somebody hitting a deep mudhole. So why is wheeling the sediment trap bad? Looks like it would be good, correct? As long as they are not wheeling in the waterway what is the problem.

Im out of it today apparently... yea thats just plain stupidity at work. I wouldnt want to cross a mud puddle in Tellico let alone hit a water hole with all the drama going on there.

Im not sure how to answer the question other than paralleling it to having the same effect as traipsing onto a construction site and ripping up the silt fence barrier.

Mud holes and unbridged waterways are one thing, but that's like wheeling in a retention pond...................MAJOR no no. Especially when Tellico is under such fire and being shut down little by little.

Actually thats a good anology because I get it fully now. Sorry I'm not dense just haven't seen or been around anything like this.

sediment trap could be full of pollutants and whatnot. Romping through it you can release them downstream. The whole point of a trap is to keep it there.

We use these a lot anymore. Silt Fence is never enough. Detention and retention basins on most projects big or small.

Evidently it carries a penalty of impound if caught; based on my conversation with Candace Wyman.
