I'll try to crawl stuff, but if that doesn't work I usually like a small dose of gas with that order. I'll be the first to say it's more exciting for the crowd and a little more nerve racking for the driver to just beat the piss out of it. I've been guilty of throttling out of lots of obstacles when required, so I don't feel bad in saying I don't think it requires much skill. (Well, for me anyway....mash pedal,hold on,and hope nothing lets go). Crawling I think does, plotting your next move and knowing what your rig will and won't do. I love to watch bugs being mashed and I like to mash some myself every now and then. Different strokes that's all it is. When I see people beating and beating on stuff there's nothing better than someone rolling up and idling up it, that to me is way more impressive than the throttle show. But to each his own.
