I called the place that I got the nv4500 for my dodge redone at yesterday. The guys kind of noncommital with me. won't say what's up. He puts his dad on the phone. apparently I broke a mainshaft in the tranny. Snapped it in two. He says he's seen 5, and they were 4 sled pullers and 1 hauler that had a 3 car ramp. Now, it broke on a tuesday coming around a curve after hitting a bump under full throttle in third with about 35 psi of boost, but my question is, I let luke borrow it the prior friday, do you think that him using it is what caused it to break?

Anyway, fuggin $180 for a new mainshaft adn they will put new bearings in it and ship it back for free. honestly, I'm not too butthurt about it, the shipping on a pallet from a freight company to Indiana and back would have been $180. That's all they're charging me for going back through it and putting new bearings and shaft in it.

the white one. nv4500
new one has an nv5600 6 speed.

its just sitting in the field with no tranny/case or shafts. kind of sucks I'm still paying on it. laughing1

It was definately Lukes fault.
laughing1 I thought so laughing1

I told the old guy he'd better ship me the mainshaft back with the tranny as a souvenir. first to hang on the wall, and second to prove that's what happened.

at least you did not tell them the reason the tranny was new was because i toasted the first tranny to begin with.
at least i told you i ****ed it up and did not just park it behind the barn and stick with the good old story of "it worked fine when i parked it"
