I see alot of questions about driveshafts and thickness of other parts, but haven't found anything on driveshaft wall thickness. I always ran atleast 1/4 wall on buggys with "normal" axles so they could stand up to bouncing off everything you drive over. Now with rockwells the shafts won't hit much if anything so how thick or thin will handle 44s, 400+ HP in a 4000 pound buggy?

As the o.d. increases you can drop the wall thickness, if they were never to touch the rocks you could likely run 3" x .090 wall and never have a problem. Look at oem stuff that have 5' shafts made of 4" tinfoil wall that will hold bigger power just have no dent resitence.

Thats what i was thinking just wanted a second opinion. I have the front axle set up so i can run 2 stock rockwell take outs with a carrier bearing and I didn't want to change the tubes if i didn't have to. Trying to set the rear for the same size but it looks like it will be too long. :drinkers:
