Aiight, installed the e-fan and hooked the ign hot wire to my stereo remote line.

Other than someone stealing my stereo, is there any problems anyone can see w/ this?

No fires yet and the fan works fine so far.

The wire you hooked up to your stereo for the fan, does that control a relay or does all the power run through it to the fan?

Relay I think. the fan came pre-wired w/ power from battery, ground, a/c on, switch off/on, and ignition on. Just had to plug and play basically. All I did was connect the ignition on wire to the stereo remote wire (same one that tells your amp to turn on when the stereo is on).

Is this set up so that your stero has to be on for the fan to work? if it is hooked up to the wire that tells the amp to turn on this could be a problem if the stero is off.

Yeah, what he said. If you turn your stereo off, the fan wont ever come on because it will think the ignition is off. Hook it to the ign hot wire on the coil which is under the hood already. Done.

the amp remote wire( which should be blue) only comes on when you turn your deck on, as soon as you turn it off your fan will go off... i guess if you want to run it this way make sure you wire it into a relay and not straight to the fan. but like the others have said just find an ignition wire that way the switch always has power when the ignition is on

damn, and I thought it was a cool idea. How many people buy extra switches to be able to turn their e-fan off during water crossings (not that Im gonna be crossing any creeks anytime soon).

Ill probably be moving it, it was just a quick fix since it was getting dark.

I plan to wire mine so its on a three way rocker. Off, On, and Auto with temp. That way, if the temp probe dies for whatever reason, I can still override it and run it manually, and I also have the ability to shut it off for water crossings no matter if I'm running it auto, or manually.

When I wired up my last one, I got lazy and wired it so that ign and the power were both hot all the time straight off the battery. It just meant the fan would stay running to cool down the radiator even after the engine was shut off. Never had a problem with it draining my battery because once the water in the rad cooled down (which didnt take long), it would kick off.
