OK, time is dwindling away faster than I imagined.

Race #3 is fast approaching so I'll go ahead and lay out the format, etc. for this one so you all can prepare for it as you wish.

Format:
It will be much different than in the past. I think you all will enjoy it...
Each Class will have 2 sepearat heat races lasting approx. 30 min. each. Top guys in each heat race move on to the Main race later that evening.
For anyone that didn't qualify for the Main race Sat. evening, there will be a Last Chance Qualifier just before your Main race. the LCQ will be 1 or 2 laps. the top finshers will move to the back of the starting grid and the green flag drops for the Main and you all run for about 1.5 hrs.

This will be very similar to the dirt track Saturday night races!

1. This weeds out the guys that may break on the first lap
2. This gives you all time to race, rest, race!
3. This gives you all time to fix/repair/prep your rig for the Main race that evening
4. This offers more racing for everyone, including spectators.

Friday pre running starts at Noon. Registratiion opens up at 10am and 8am the gates open so teams can get set up.

Babie Jeep race 8pm Friday night! Have a partner because there are not many hills there so you'll need a pusher to get through the course! It'll be entertaining for all!
Saturday:
DragonFire UTV heat 1
DragonFire UTV heat 2
break
Ironman4x4 Class A heat 1
Ironman4x4 Class A heat 2
break
NC4x4 Class B heat 1
NC4x4 Class B heat 2
break
Class C heat 1
Class C heat 2
break
DragonFire UTV LCQ
DragonFire UTV Main
break
Ironman4x4 Class A LCQ
Ironman4x4 Class A Main
break
NC4x4 Class B LCQ
NC4x4 Class B Main
break
Class C LCQ
Class C Main

Thats a lot of races! Racing will go into the night, prob. until 9pm for class C, maybe a little later. So, its imperative that you all have working tail lights!!!

There are stadium seats for spectators, plenty of space for pits, plenty of space for parking, and plenty of space for vendors/sponsors!

Lights are at the venue but there may be an area that you all race where lights won't be provided Bring your own and make sure they work!

We are updating the website now and more info will be posted soon!

Registration is now OPEN!!!!

Something else to add...

The ECORS Windrock race is coming up Nov 5. You must qualify for this race to compete.

There are 5 ways to qualify:
1. Be a 2011 ECORS season member AND race in at least 2 races in 2011 (Spartanburg and Silver Valley Aug 27 remain)
2. Run an ECORS qualifier race, currently 5 spots available at the Silver Valley, NC Aug 27 race
3. Run the Last Chance Qualifier Friday Nov 4 at Windrock
4. Earn a merit based invite from ECORS
5. Submit a team bio/application for invite/entry into the race

So, seing how there are only 2 races left prior to the Windrock race, see qualifying option #1. This is prob. the easiest way to qualify for the race. So, sign up for this race now to meet #1 above!!!

We spent all day out at the course Saturday with the bobcat shaping the jumps and moving some things around. Its not Glen Hellen but its not too bad for the east coast :D

Longest straight away is about 350 yards, maybe 400, 180* hairpin turn, 300 yd run, slight dogleg to the left, table top jump, then 150 yards, 180* hairpin, 100 yds, then turn into the technical man made rock crawl sections. There are some straight sections mixed into that as well. It'll be fast-slow-fast-slow all day. Good cooling, good pickup off the line, and good brakes will win this race.

The PIT area IS NOT beside the start/finish line incase some guys are expecting this. It is right in the middle of the technical rock sections. So, prepare for this. We changed it up a little to have teams be a little more diverse in strategy :D

my lil motor may reach the rev limiter in low over 350 yds :woot:

lookin forward to this race :woody:

It will be different that what we've done in the past thats for sure. I'm interested in feedback once the race is over, so let us know how this different format works and is something that should be considered in the future :)

Getting closer!

It will be awesome to race all out 50' away from the locals that live just on the other side of the trees from the course! :D

looks like Dennis got third and Mark dnf'd with an unknown problem.....he will get another shot in the lcq shootout before the main race

I was worried about the course when we first got there, but it ended up being a blast to run. I had some bad luck in the heat race , one of the first few laps our hood flew up and we had to pull over to fix it and lost the lead. then on the last lap I bent a wheel and lost air in the right front but was still able to complete the lap.

in the main race my fuel cell cap seal came out (swells when it gets hot) and i was pouring fuel on the inclines so had to go to the pits to make a new seal out of duct tape. I think we still ended up finishing 5th :wtflol:

Mark had some bad luck with steering at first (ram didnt have enough stroke) then the motor started giving some trouble, air filter got cloged up.. it was so dusty it was nuts

thanks for everyones help in the pits - and thanks for the nudges when we were bottomed out :dblthumb:

it was a great time

ill post some pics tomorrow

Great job guys. Hate to hear of yours and Marks trials and tribulations, but I know you guys will let it all hang out again. When and where is the next race going to be at? I would like to go to it. thumb.gif

Good to meet you Dan, see yall at the next one.....
