Ever heard of this or am I the one that hasn't heard of it?

My Dad has an 86 Jeep Comanche 4WD......when he turns the steering wheel the motor revs up. I really don't give a **** except that he thinks I'm the Jeep authority and I've never heard of it and after looking at the thing I still don't know how it does it. Anybody got any knowledge of this thing.....I'm talking 86' .....you know....almost antique! ???

C'mon Kelly! I was counting on you to know that 86' Comanshits had a switch on the steering column to raise the engine RPM's. ???

does it have a throttle cable and if so does it interfere with the steering column under the dash

the pump is straining and then bypasses as it hits lock?
is it injected or has a computer on the carb?

I know the steering doesn't interfere with any cables out under the hood but I'll have to check under the dash.

The steering never has to hit lock ......as soon as the tires turn the motor revs up. He's suppose to bring it over tonight so I can have a closer look. He's convinced it's costing him a fortune in gas for the 3 miles a month that he drives it. That makes it priority 1 in his life and no one will rest til it's resolved! :
