extreme basic tech questions

for the life of me i thought i saw a vin number on a toyota frame once.any of you guys ever see them on the frame?
i was under the impression that toyota put the vin in three locations.the dash,the door sill,possibly the firewall or the frame.mine has it on the firewall,but the chassis i want to pick up has no title.and i have a title for my truck.what do ya think?is this in the wrong place mods?sorry if it is.cheers, brian

there is a vin on the front right side of the frame, if i'm not mistaken.

Every body panel should have a sticker, for instance top edge of front fenders and top forward corner of doors near mirrors. Frame stamping is near the rear of the front wheel wells, odd looking raised section which is usually covered in undercoating or dirt.
