First off I broke my long side inner axle this weekend. Trying to decide if I want to go chromo or factory, this was the original shafts I believe , 30 years old. Im hoping to try to start my new build in the spring for a second time. It will not be using this LP 60, so I don't want to sink alot in it if I don't have to, is why I'm thinking just using a Spicer replacement. I can get one for $125.

Second question, on my new build I have a 78 hp60 that I was planning on using. But I've been thinking I could sell the hp60 and use that money to retube a 14, and buy inner c's. Then use my knuckles to the drive flanges off of my lp60, and have a 30/35 spline 14 bolt front. Motor will be a lq4 6.0. What's yalls opinions on this?thanks

Was the stock shaft a neck down shaft? Did it break in that area? the newer factory fat shafts are a bit stronger if that was the case

Re:

Yukons are not much more money than oem shafts and are a selling point when you decide to sell the axle

Thanks guys, I will give one of them a call this week.

Any input on keeping my hp60 or trying to do a 14 front?
