This is what i did when i got it home after being pissed about the weak I6 and the Swiss cheese tub
Found a donor jeep with a good tub and a spare transfer case thats about it
This is the 351w i found never been touched sittin in somebodies back yard. I had to beat the valve covers off it and bore it .30 and turn the crank .10
stock 8.5 to 1 pistons but 30% lighter
believe it or not Chrome was the cheapest stuff i could find. (i hate chrome)
Some block hugger ceramic coated headers, truck avenger carb, performer intake, rv torque cam, double roller timing chain w/ variable cam timing. High volume oil pump and a rear sump conversion oil pan. I had to use some chrome flex tubing from Schucks to run my radiator hoses the water pick up was on the wrong side and this is a true budget build not a extreme 4x4 budget build. I can't afford an aluminum radiator when works great.
sittin on 33s and stock axles right now but gotta rear 60 and a front 44 thats going in with 37in boggers.
Not pics of the tranny but its a np 435 that i adapted to a dana 300 twin stick. This rig has kept me up a night many many times but the end reward is so worth it.
And this is about what it took to keep from settin it on fire lol
