My 2004 Rubicon is getting a complete rear axle warrantee replacement, side to side, complete.

The replacement was warranteed because there is a hairline crack in the housing where the upper left control arm mount sits. Looks totally fixable, but the shop told the warrantee people the labor to fix it would be too much.
The pinion bearing has seen better days, needs to be replaced.

I can buy it back for the price of the core and will resell it to pay for a hard top.

More of a hassle than a gain to fix it up?

I really can't find any for sale to compare one way or the other.

Whats the price of the core? Ebay should have a rubi close to that year for price reference.

Like Bunk said, whats the core.

If its $100 or so you could probably flip the axle pretty easily and make a hundred or so. Does it have a locker? That might be your money ticket right there.

All Rubicons come with a factory locker, it's a low-pressure air-activated unit. Not too popular, unless you have a Rubicon. If it was my rig, I'd buy it back, and strip out the axle shafts for spares.
