Looking to buy a good quality floor jack for around like 120 bucks. Anyone got any suggestions on what brand and what cpacity i should get? I really have no clue what determines a good jack from a crappy one so help me out please:D

I picked up the aluminum costco "racing" jack. :D Truth be told, I actually do feel *faster* when I'm using it. It was $99 and had a decent lift height at around 20" I think. I like it, and would buy it again.

same here on the costco version plus its lighter for us old farts:clappy: I will sell you a steel one for $25.00

jack is about 28" long lifts about 18" and I believe is a 2 1/2 ton

I've got an old craftsman 2 ton and the new craftsman 1 pump to load hight 2 1/2 ton.

What do you think of both of them? You think they are good quality? I was thinking about going with the craftsman 3 ton.....would that be overdueing it a bit?

Good jacks are fawking hard to find for an affordable price.

I grabbed a "power built" at Schmucks, on sale for I think $80. It has the better hydraulics, u-joint valve, and a pretty beefy frame, so it's not too shabby, actually a pretty good deal for what I paid.

I've been looking for a good used "better' one, but man they just don't turn up.

Get the light "racing" model... that way when you drop it on your toe, it won't hurt so bad. :redneck:

We have two... one is a craftsman "SUV" jack that does the one pump to lift height thing, and the other is some off-brand that I can't remember. It has a lower overall profile, and has a twist handle for controlling the valve vs. the screw type... I use both, but I like the off-brand one because it has a larger cradle... convenient for lifting a rig by the diffs and it also doubles as a ghetto transmission jack... as long as there are enough helpers to balance it. :)
