Ok so I have a low mileage 2001 LM7 and 4l60e tranny. I have my heart set on a reverse FMVB. However there doesn't seem to be any available (except from Australia on ebay)
The combo isn't in a rig yet so If my only option is to switch to a different tranny the time is now. I have found lots of information on Transgo re-programmer kits which would give me full manual control but not a reversed pattern. This is something I might be able to live with considering how cheap the kit is.
I understand that the 4l60e isn't the strongest tranny but it is lite, compact, and has great gearing. The plan is to put the combo in a sub 3klbs rig so I'm hoping for it to hold up for awhile

Thanks in advance for options and/or suggestions

Adam

welp, FYI, the only real option i have if I want full manual is to use the transgo shift reprogrammer kit. Seems pretty cool. Full manual operation or U can put it in drive for full auto operation.

i've been researching a little lately planning a future auto upgrade and from what i understand the 4L60E is basically an electronic version of a 700R4 and the 4L80E is essentially an electronic TH400 w/overdrive. does anyone know if that is correct? another cool feature of the shift reprogrammer kit is that you can program what rpm you want your shift points to be at.

the 4l80e is supposedly as strong or stronger than a TH400 but with OD. They are in no other way alike.
The 4l60e is the latest version of a 700r4.

With the 4l60e you can reprogram the computer for different shift points as well

Check out http://www.optishift.com/

I used those guys' old style controller over 11 years ago, and it worked flawlessly. The OptiShift product is their updated controller.

TCI also sells a standalone setup.
