Paging Matt :fish:

I have an 08 350 dually awesome truck go ahead and do tuner and dpf delete will make huge difference in MPG.

I own an 08 with the 6.4. I bought it with 39k and now has 59k currently.

I run an HS mini tuner, SB intake, and MBRP exhaust. Runs and tows like a camp. No issues to date.

I send oil samples to blackstone labs with excellent remarks about the motor. Current oil change interval is 10k using Rotella T6. I hope to get close to 12k when said and done.

Mine's a beast hooked to a trailer... 08 f350 dually. H&S minimax tuner, dpf delete, 4" exhaust. MPG's still suck, but like you, that's not what I bought it for.

Re:

It wont be no 12 valve when it comes to mileage, but has unquestionable power on a tuner.

I had an 08 with an auto, and a 10 with a manual... I now have an 11.. Loved all 3.. The 08/10 both had all the deletes done as soon as I got them, and were trouble free for the 50K I put on each (both bought new).

I know several guys with the 6.4 with the spartan tuners on them & they make stupid power. So far they have dogged the piss out of them with no trouble. But I keep waitin for an epic fail. They seem to be tough.

6.4's are sweet, but the 6.7's are just a little nicer!! :****: Either way, get that emissions crap off there and enjoy!

My 08 f350 dually work trk has 246K on it. 125k of that is on it's 2nd engine. First one broke the camshaft at 101k. Has been running on a H&S tuner with all the dpf crap deleted for about 20k of those miles. My mileage went from a pitiful 10 mpg to a crappy 14.5 mpg tuned that's with the trk running around at 12/13k pds at all times. Good thing the company picks up the fuel bill. Mine has eat radiators like M&M's since new, currently has it's 8th as of two months ago. If I had the money I would buy one as a personal trk.

I know of a few companies that have started eliminating all 6.4s from their fleets because they stay broke. Maybe they only suck in stock form :dunno:

Re:

08 has issues with its radiators. I havent seen it yet. Good aftermarket one should fix that. Was told it was fixed in 09.

All the diesel mags say the 6.4 has the most turntable power of all manufacturers.

My FIL has one with 80,000 babied miles. Full deleted. Keeps stalling out randomly right after its started. I would save more pennies and get a 6.7.

I've got an 08 I bought with 50,000 miles, currently has 130,000 & it doesn't leave the yard with out a load behind it. It has a tuner & PDF delete. have replaced the rear end clutches & the radiator. It's a pretty damn good truck, shitty gas mileage though.

I have an 08 250 with 37 Toyos, DPF delete, 4" exhaust, Spartan Tuner, Head studs and New Gaskets not that i needed them just wanted to go ahead and do it. I was 7.3 diehard for 11 years and the 7.3 is still a hoss loaded but my 6.4 will walk the dog on it loaded unloaded doesn't matter, I haven't turned mine up past the 275 tune yet but i couldn't see why you would need more, boosted launch it will spin all 4 tires and that ain't no joke, I love my 6.4 and don't think i would have it any other way, I only get about 10 loaded but didn't buy a 9000 pound truck to get mpgs.

Everybody has always complained about the 6.0 ford but my department has 5 trucks with that engine and none have never had a head off and we have 6 of the 6.4 and two have had engines, mine at 101 k and the other at around 50 k. All of the 6.4 are 08 models except for 1.

Every friend I have that has a 6.4 has had atleast one engine replaced. They eat front covers, radiators, pistons, you name it. I'm a ford guy at heart but after asking several diesel mechanics if it was just something that my friends we're doing wrong, they said nope! If you thought the 6.0's was bad, look at a 6.4 they are even worse. After hearing that repeatedly, I bought a 6.7 Cummins. I wouldn't be scared of a 6.7 powerstroke if you are just using it for towing. However they don't like big horsepower and if you even run a "big" tune then you chance blowing the stock turbo to pieces.
