Just bought my first rock crawler a while back and kind of new to the sport... broke a axle shaft on my first trip out... lookin to find some chromoly's to throw back in it.

it's a ford 9 big bearing 31 spline out of a 78 f100. just wondering if anyone has good advice on what i should throw back in it...

also i'm running chevy 6 on 5.5 bolt pattern and i'm trying to avoid having to drill out a new bolt pattern in the new axles... does anyone know where i can get the ford axle with a chevy bolt pattern? i'm assuming it'll have to be somewhere that does custom axles...

any advice is greatly appreciated!!!

Moser axle they can make whatever you need and it will be 4340 just call them and tell all your specs

Moser makes some good axles. Do yourself a favor and order them ready to install, bearings , studs already installed. You will have to have a few basic measurements like width and brake dims.

thanks for the help! i've been searching for axles for a little while now and don't seem to find much for the ford 9s... is that common, or is it just me???

It's just you.

There is more aftermarket parts available for a Ford 9 than any other axle ever built.

Things like custom axle shafts though require you to make phone calls,
