I've got what I believe is a 78-79 high pinion 60. C molly shafts, drive flanges and I think a Detroit, not sure its a Detroit Haven't had it apart yet. Anyway its starting to pop more and more under load, sounds like it's coming from the diff, pretty loud and getting worse. Is this a sign of a locker getting ready to fail? Or a gear issue or what? Thanks

I've got a simalar question about a front axle. Stock Toyota front, 83 model. How do you get the ball joints out? :flipoff1:

Gear oil is good. I'll pull the cover, unless I see any gear issues that's obvious, I'm assuming a locker is all it could be. But how the hell do I know once I open it?? :dunno:

Take it out and take it apart. Replace any springs or gears that are broken.

It may just be getting wore out though.
