ford diesel questions

Ok so ive got a 91f250 with a non tubro 7.3 its 2wd and has a manual trans. i would like to make it 4wd. (the truck has 60K miles and looks good) so what manual trans will work or could i use a divorced tcase? (i havent be able to find a 4x4 diesel with a manual trans. at least in my area.) If i can use a divorced tcase what tcase will work. thanks for your info.

ya could use a divoced np205 out of an older ford. that is what my father used behind his C4 in his snowcat.

Do you want a 4 speed or a 5 speed. If you look, you can find Diesel 5 speeds with the transfer case. I have a 4 speed T-19 in my 87 F-350, and I have thought about upgrading to the later ZF SF5-42 or SF5-47. Not knowing what you have, I would bet that you could rebuild your current tranny to use the 4x4 tailshaft, and have the tranny that you already know it's history.
