No surgery needed
Before seperating the case from the trany, remove the blank out cover from the case.
You will be able to discern where the rails are in accordance with the shifter and where you will weld your conversion pieces at.
Move the t-case shifter to 4 HI. This will bring the rails as far out of the case as they will go.(they will be cut off in this position later)
Measure the gap between the rails with calipers
Mark and cut the the existing shift arms
Hack off the other arm will you're at it
Take your pieces and place them according to the caliper measurment.
Tack a scrap piece of steel to hold them in the proper position. Bevel the pieces to recieve plenty of weld
Tack a piece of welding rod to your little creation and lower it into the proper position. Tack
Weld
Now break the scrap piece off and move the rails forward and back to weld down each side
Now your cases will go together nicely
Offcourse if this case ever blows up I'll be replaceing the whole unit (More cost effective)
