FOUND - Crawler Test Area in Auburn

Figured this might be of interest to those in the South end... today I needed a spot to test my Clod in Super mode, and found a place not five minutes from home. On the lot that was once the Auburn Bowling Alley, there are some big debris piles. One is broken concrete, the other asphalt. Lots of tough lines, and some big holes. For those too young to know the spot, it's on right near the intersection of Howard Road and "R" Street SE, right next to where Auburn Way starts heading up the hill toward the Muckelshoot Casino.

Right on, I used to spend alot of time at that bowling alley when I was growing up. How did the clod do?

I ordered the rest of my parts today to finish my TLT.. going to be a little while though, the ESC and Servo are coming from China. I went with the Bronco body from Tower.

I'll have to test it out over there.

Hmm? Might have to test out the crawler with the new 5995 servo there tomorrow.

Tom - Clod actually seemed to do pretty well, still working out some bugs, and trying to learn how to drive with the rear steering, but I can't really complain. I decided to try running with no foam in the tires, and hopefully I don't regret it.

Did you get the Moped? Which servo are you using?

Yeah the Moped is the one I ordered. I suppose I'll find out if it's going to work out. I also ordered that Servo also. Figured if I was ordering one part from China I might as well order another at the same time. A couple of other pieces are coming from Tower, and the rest are pretty much from ebay..

Yeah. I'm in the middle of putting my tranny together right now..going to go JB weld my diff in a few. I havn't done my shafts yet. Havn't figured out how the shafts attach to the TLT axles yet. This is my first crawler but I've been having a blast putting it together. I won't be able to compete in the first comp this month but I might make it there to watch. Hopefully I'll be able to both for the 2nd.

How much do you have left to do?

Well it was the drive shafts but I have to go to Hobbytown to get more. But other than that I am done.

Well I decided to steal the driveshafts from my scaler and got it all ready and then went to screw the tranny in and the screws are too short to bite into the tranny after going through the derlin skid.

I know that site

Hello all new to crawling but have been playing with gas nitros for 10 + yrs. Built a couple of crazy 1:1 also.

To the point I am a direct cause of that site . The modular buildings that shellys has are from my company and we put that pile of concrete there during the install a few years ago.

I will be getting my crawler next monday, some one may reconize it. It is the PTI goliath based on the sniper 1:1 that smoothtranny built it and rcnitro ed had it for a while. You can see pics of it over at rccrawler.com

I hope that it is a fun rig and that I am not dissapointed. I have been racking my brain for a place to test it and viola there it is under my nose. I will probally go play next monday when it arrives.

Anyone want to show me the ropes ????

I wish I could, But I have to work
I thought about skippin my sleep to come for a little bit but it is right in the middle of my sleep
I work 6pm-6am friday saturday and sunday

I will not be able to becuase the tuber is stuck at fed ex. home delivery is closed on monday so i cant even pick it up. I have placed a hold on it and will have it in my hands 8:00 am tusday. I plan on hitting auburn tuesday night. If you still are planning on going tonight post it here and the time I would love to come and watch/learn.
