I'm looking to buy a set of coil overs for my buggy, I had a set of FOA's but was not too impressed by the quality. So I sold them and now im looking to get another set of coilovers. I was wondering if anyone here has tried the 2.0 Fox Air Coilovers? They have a 1 1/4 Shaft and seem to be a mixture of the fox air shock and a coilover. They will be going on a 4 seat buggy with a 5.3 Th400 Np205 and rockwells. Thanks.

Not heard of these till now how much money difference than a regular coil over?
They are only about 15 bucks more each than the fox emulsion coilover with the 7/8 shaft. Here is the info on them from Poly Performance

Seems like it would be a big variable in tuning, but in theory, you could have a super soft ride, and tune in a very progressive rate to soak up the big hits, and possibly negate the need for separate air bump stops.

When Lay was building his buggy he was talking to Fox about them, and the tech rep he was talking to said they were extremely hard to tune, and it didnt make sense to run them instead of a regular coilover. :****:

I saw those when I ordered 4 7/8" shaft coil overs Monday, didn't wanna be the Guinney pig so I got the standard coil over with foxs rock bouncer tune, I got the 2.0 14" emulsion, fox has one of the best tech lines ... Any time I have called they answer anything witch is the reason I only use fox products, not saying king or saw etc doesn't have that service but I do know foa doesn't and it kinda sounds like profendor is goin down hill now too

Jimmy is the man on tuning shocks. Anybody that rides in my buggy talks about how awesome it rides. We built the motor in my buggy first of July and now it goes faster so the rear coilover broke a dual rate on cable hill last srrs race. I pulled them off and shipped them back and they got retuned by Jimmy again. Price check them, they will be the cheapest and will work with you untill they are perfect. :****:

I ran another brand of this CO, it worked ok, but the build quality on my brand was "lacking". It was easy enough to tune, the big difference in mine is the giant shaft reduces oil capacity dramatically. From what I can tell, an emulsion CO is basically the same thing but on the air co, the shaft displaces oil/N2 more rapidly giving the "airspring" effect.
Go with the normal stuff. I am happier with my emulsion COs. They both actually need the same tuning. Like I said, the N2 in both of mine did the same thing, just more pronounced on the air co with less oil to do its job.
