WELL?? in the FARM
Looking for the person with some or most experience in fox air shocks and thier mounting!
I have been warned of their bad tributes but I am going through with these.
I am making hoops this weekend (just general 30") for all four corners
ready to throw tube at it!!
*do I need the misalignment spacers for the ends?
*am I going to need a scale to weigh the truck?
*run em low and with bump stops?
*is there an engineered pressure and ride height?
*personal opinions needed and welcomed!
:D
thanks Tom

You will want additional 1/4 or 1/2 spacer's to add to the thin spacer's they supplied in the box. If they are going on your truck you will more than likely have to add shock oil, pressure is a trial and error, start low and work your way up. You don't want to lean them too much as they are the bare minimum necessary for springrate.

ok

Then do I need to start over...I was told they were "set up" for pressure" they are charged!!.......cuz I have wheeled with the guy who saw my truck. V8 and we discussed approx weight blah blah..(may be backwards???)
And a for shock oil...same stuff at like a motorcycle place?
AAANnd are you saying n so many words...take everything out of my truck (springs and such ) colapse the truck all the way down..as well as the fox'...do my hoops...tabs...mounting...bumpstops...... add oil...right....then add the nitrogen to just what ever i think is good for ride height...then wheel or testing grounds ect..and add nitro as needed ...for......stability? or is the more to the charge than that?...

Set the shock's up at full pinch, that way you know there will never be any collisions between diff and whatever. I'm sure they are charged to something, but it makes it kinda hard to set them up that way, let all the nitro out of them (probably have to do it a few times as you don't want ANY OIL to come out when deflating, the shock will be foamy inside, so let it sit for a few and let out residual). We just use honda motorcycle shock oil. You will probably be able to get your ride height without adding oil, but wheeling you will find you are bottoming out far too easily. The oil is used to replace nitrogen volume which makes for a higher springrate, especially near full compression (nitro compresses easier than oil) where you want to fight bottoming the shock, and gain stability.

Ahhh Ha!

YES !! MASTER>>>>OK I got it (I think)...that makes WAY more sense and ease!...I will get those bump stops from polyperformance ,,mount those first..set the whole truck down on them and begin the hoops. are you thinking I leave about 2-3" of shaft at that ?? then top off with oil...I am asuming that they come apart near or at the top after the nito is bled..right? or do I need more guidance !! LOL ...thanks Tom...
