Getting ready to buy a fuel cell for the buggy and had a few questions maybe you guys could help me with.
Which is better a fuel cell with a sump at the bottom or one that has the pick up at the top of the tank? Never
had one with the sump at the bottom. Just wondering if going down hill with low fuel would be a problem with
either? Sure it could be with the one with the sump, but so could the other right? Thanks in advance!

Daniel

i am not sure but i went with the rci with the top pickup for my buggy. i have not drove it yet but i should know i a week

Both of mine have sump at the bottom with bottom outlet. They are "X" baffled inside. This allows all the gas to be used before running out. But, when you are out, your OUT!

what one do you have in the single seater.... Im also in the market and want a small usable cell, just havent decided on what to go with and have only used larger "trail rig" style RCI's and such.

I built it out of cardboard, as is was very complicated. Then Rickey and I figured the volume. We were within a gallon! I bought the aluminum from Oneal Too. I used 1/4" checker plate for the top as I was going to be suspended, used as a cooler tie down, stood on, etc. I had Jimmy Keith cut the aluminum, added the bungs, and weld it up for me.

John's fuel cell is slick, not sure how much a custom unit compares to one from Summit though. The site tube in John's is a cool touch because it sucks to run out of gas!

Do they sell Aluminum buy the sheet at O'Neal John? If so what is a standard length?

I bought a 4x8 sheet of 1/8" And a drop of the 1/4" checker plate. It was about 6" each way more than I needed.

Rear sumps are not the best for long down hill desents. I prefer is to be deep and in the middle.
