I'm building a large Rockwell rig with a supercharged lq4 probably in the 550-600hp range. I've been reading a lot of threads over on pirate on cell size. I picked up a Jegs bladder style cell with the steel outer can the other day for really cheap. Its a 32 gal cell which is big. Going to be doing general trail rides with it but would like to not worry about running out. Am I going way overkill or should I sell it and pick up a 22-25 gal?

Im a 4 banger guy...so I'm not speaking from actual experience, but most of the guys I know with the thirstier motors generally run a 15-25gal cell. If you plan to wheel somewhere where it's a pain to refill during during the time you're there...from day to day then the bigger cell might make since, but if you have the ability to fill up at the end of each day at the very least then a smaller cell makes much more sense.

I would say 32 gallon is way big for what you are planning to do.

Also consider how much it will be parked. I keep my cell full to eliminate/cutdown evaporation, but thats a slippery slope to getting a whole cell of bad gas.

I would say 20 gallons or so.
I burned 10 gallons in a 4.3 in just over an hour the other weekend, but we were racing.

I got the 32 for like half of what it normally costs so Im almost wondering if it wouldn't be worth selling and getting the 22gal version of it. I'll have to check fitment of it in the chassis again and see if I can get it to sit in a decent spot.

A big cell with a little fuel makes the fuel more likely to slosh away from the pickup. Ethanol gas (which most these days is) doesn't like to sit for very long. I'm doing some repairs on my rig right now and I've got 1/3 tank sitting for about 3 months now and its already starting to smell bad.

20-25 gal is plenty IMHO.

WFO has a 20 gallon and it will not use that in a day of riding. Depending on how hard I ride it will sometimes go 2 days.

The JG YJ has a 16 gallon and it's fine for a day feeding a 525hp LS2.

20 gallon aluminum in mine. 8 an fittings top and bottom with recessed sump. Rhodes race cars brand eBay special for around $250.

Im runnin 7 in my x rated buggy and hate it I filled up 4 times this weekend thats runnin a 408

All depends on how fast and hard you drive. I have burnt all 32 in less than 8 hours before. Stock LS1. The Jaz 26 was only about an inch smaller in each dimension. I'm glad I stuck with the 32.
