What PNW Jeep assoc are you talking about? I see no rules in the PNW that say only Jeeps are allowed. Plus I know there are other rigs than Jeeps in the PNW4WDA. This still goes back to the fact that the guy was being a TOTAL ASS. If we want to keep our trails open for our kids and their kids then then we have to start being responsible. And part of that is to limit the amount of damage we do to the trails we have.Next issue is what gets debated all the time. How wide is too wide? Depends on which trails you want to run. If you want to be able to wheel all the available trails in the PNW then you need to build your rig to FIT THE TRAILS. If we keep building out rigs with the intent to make the trails fit our rigs we are going to be in trouble.So to answer the OP question. I would not put full width axles under your CJ. I have a narrowed Ford HP44 axle in the front of my TJ. I would agree that a WMS of around 61-64" is about right. Any wider and your going to have problems. Again this is just a personal opinion.
