my buddy's wondering how close the gearing ratio needs to be in the diffs,
he just put a 9'' and a dana 44 out of a bronco under his ranger and wants to go as low as he can.

or at least how far apart can they be. he'll be runnin 38's

i have cherokee w a 4.0 ho, im running a 9 and 44 with 5.13s and 37s, its perfect, great on road and low enough for wheelin

what i mean is the gears that we found for ford 9'' is 5.83 and the closest dana 44 is 5.89 so is that close enough or will there be problems

yeah thats what we were just discussin, its only like 6 hundredths off so yeah should be fine.

If he ends up thinking its binding up up cause of the difference...its not cause of the gears. Its cause ANY difference in tire pressure, load, terrain, or any hint of turning the tires slightly out of line with the back tires causes a true 4x4 to start to bind. So tell him to quit thinking so hard and get to wheeling it:D
