Gathering parts for my Ftoy v8 swap
I'm going with a simple SBC and a auto.

I recently picked up a downey adapter to mate my toy tcases to my GM trans (700)
My question is... Are most gm trans rear bolt patterns the same?

Reason I ask is, I don't have a need for a long 700r4 in my rig and was thinking of running a "cheap to build th350"

All help would be appreciated

"Most" are the same, and I'd give up 3 inches of driveshaft length for a 20% lower first gear in a 700 anyday

Re: Re: GM trans skol'n

V8 Toyota is a bad idea....

Anyway, what style adapter is it? Do you have to change the tailshaft in the trans?

I'm still gathering info I believe you oly have to chance output shaft. But not 100%

Are manual VB avsliable for 700s

I've heard of putting 700r first gear in a 350 and also some 400 parts in it to whats the deal with this. Some boys at fall crawl were running this set up.

I had a guy when I lived in Mi that made me 3:1 gearsets for my T350's. worked great in the sand drag cars. ATI and TCI make a 2.75:1 gearset if you wanted to go that route but they are pricey. You can get a MVB for the 700
