GM VIN #'s

Does anyone know how to tell if a truck has LLY or LBZ motor code through the vin number

yeah on those '06s they get complicated.
My '06 VIN says LLY, but it has LBZ badges, and when we went in to tune the comp in EFILive it was a stock LBZ comp with stock LBZ tune. So it was setup about the same as a hot tuned up LLY already. We moved it up but it was another thing that was a WTF with the truck of engine vs. vin.

Just saying that the VIN isnt a 100% catch all.

Well I am a littel sceptical about this dealer and have no way to take a good look at the vin #

Is there anybody on here that can tell more about this VIN? Any help would be appreciated!

That is an LBZ vin. 8th digit is D, if it was a 1 it would be an LB7 or if a 2 it would be an LLY

ok thanks - just did not know if there was anything else of importance that could be told by the vin.

Oh ****, its an 2007. Yeah no worries there. You get the LBZ, and the 6-speed tapshift.
I'm not able to pull of the trim package. Whats it got? Color, interior?

here's a photo - LT2 wich is prety much base interior with 19,000 miles. Price before tax is 33,950

It says LBZ,3.73 gears.But then again GM doesnt even know what they put in them when they build them. :****:

IMO thats high dollar for an early year 2007, but then again 19,000 miles is ****ING LOW!!! So that does jack it up a bit.

Yea its high - but we will see what they will do - and that is damn low miles

Josh i would almost be skeptic about why it only has 19K miles on it. Been wrecked or Its a sharp truck just need to throw those mudflaps in the garbage and probably the old man bars too

I am not old but I have the on mine. I dot a good deal on them and didnt like being able to see the frame rail that much.
