My current truck is a short bed and has a gooseneck. I own a 30' 5th wheel camper. My current setup on the 5th wheel camper has an air ride setup with a turret. A simple adapter will not work in this situation. I am pondering between these two ideas. Anyone have some experience with these 2 setups? Is there a better product or route to go?

And yes I read jj's thread but decided I needed my own. :****:

Never mind I got my answers. Lol please move along.

Are you getting rid of the air ride and sidewinder?

As for the sidewinder, my buddy had one and I couldnt pull it with my B&W companion. Well they didn't make a wedge for it and didn't recommend it. Looks like the hitch you posted is a lot like it. Might want to check that out.

I didn't want the regular rails in my truck, but with that set up it would prob be your best and cheapest option.

I pulled my camper with short bed dodge and never had a problem. You can also looking into extended pin box, buddy had one on his due to mega cab truck.

It's more of this is what I have and I would really like to keep my current setup on the camper. But!!!!! I have found no way to lock out the goose neck side. Does this makes sense? 2 pivot points are now created. I wonder if there is a way to lock out the turret?

I can't view it on my phone but in the morning I can. What does it say in layman terms?

Put the two bolts in and it will not let the sidewinder pivot. Your piviot will be the gooseneck ball.

put couple stitch welds on it so wont pivot and you could grind them off for some reason if needed to. I just have the standard 5thwheel to gooseneck on my toyhauler that uses 3/4 bolts.

Well I am prone to having bad **** happen to me. I'm afraid that "if" some sort of accident would happen what would the ramifications be if an insurance adjuster was to see the welds and mods and blame me?
