Gov lock?

It seems as though I may have a gov lock in my 14boltff in the back of the burb. I had just assumed it was open, untill I did a little burnout at a buddies house. :redneck: It still acted as if it were open, untill after the burnout and I went to leave. When I went to leave, I took a left hand turn, and the rear scrubbed as if it were spooled. :eeek: Haven't noticed anything since then, untill I went to pull into the gas station the other day, and it started scrubbing (barking :haha: ) pulling in. This is on a DD/Tow rig, so it doesn't see any real offroad stresses.

So I guess what my question is, does this sound like a symptom of a gov lock on it's way out (already broke)? And how long till it self destructs and takes out inocent bystanders?:redneck:

gov bombs are generally considered junk. just google gov lock and you find out more than youll ever need to know about it....

its probably broken. Find a an open case and swap it out before it totally explodes

So I basically need the whole carrier? I need to regear here soon too, so maybe I'll just try and find another axle, without the gov bomb, already geared.
