Great agenda Paul, those are all important issues. To take it one step further, please come prepared with any issues/problems you have with the following ways to tackle the above solutions. Our meetings seem to just be a series of side conversations without much direction, we need direction and focus and we need to have an action planned layed out prior to the meeting (from the forums, emails, phone calls, etc.). Because we don't have enough time in the meeting to determine the best method to do something and then discuss pros/cons of that method. We need to have some ideas on the table so we can pick one, all or none and move on. Please bring something to write with/on and be prepared to discuss club stuff and get something resolved.
My plans of attack to Paul's agenda are;
1. Marketing/Selling Club Swag - Create a new topic board on the forums so people can place orders for coozies and shirts. Cost, pictures, delivery info, payment temrs and order time will be provided. They will just need to place their order (post) and paypal me or mail check. We can then ship out when the goods arrive. I will need help from the shipping side to make this possible, this cannot be a one man show. Too much work.
2. Club Membership - The plan of adding one member at a time is too slow IMO. Bailey is not going this weekend, so we have wasted a 3 month cycle on getting him to a ride and now have no prospective members on the upcoming ride. I think we need to look at 2-3 members at a time, this gives us flexibility when some back out of rides. It also gives them some competition so we can see who is really excited about being a member and who is not.
3. How can we get members to rides? This weekend we are 3 rigs out of 9 (my rig included as missing). Do we need to re-evaulate the purpose of the club as not even half of the members can make a ride that is only 2 hours away? I hope not, as the club was founded on seeing new places and traveling. Do we need to do more due dilligance when picking future members so that we make sure they are going to make rides and be involved. Are people not coming because of lack of funds, other priorities, or lack of committment to the club? If it is cost how can we make travel rides more doable? If it is lack of committment, or preference to ride at other places/or with other people not in the club, how do we solve that problem. How is a trip to Summertown/Wooly's much different than a MMORV ride? They are both neck in neck in terms of cost, but we always get better involvement at MMORV.
