Just wanted to ahead and start a thread about this one, as it is our next "official" ride on the calendar, but I am sure some more will pop up between now and then. P, I believe you volunteered to plan this one so it is all you. I am not sure how River Rock ORV operates for "off" weekends so we may need to check with them first to make sure we don't have to rent out the park or anything.

Re: Hardline @ River Rock ORV, September 12-14

I had the contact info on my myspace ( which is now gone... )

Ill do some research and get it sorted. Need to get a PROPER head count guys... COMMIT or dont waste alot of time sucka's :flipoff1:

( how's that for Mr. Nice coordinator laughing1 )

Re: Hardline @ River Rock ORV, September 12-14

Looks like we will need to look into camping or a hotel. Looking at their site we will need 10 rigs at $50/each for the weekend. If we can't get that committed in the next few weeks then we should probably find another venue ASAP.

I am in with my rig, already have the time off.

Re: Hardline @ River Rock ORV, September 12-14

I am committed. We need to get money in early on this like we did for Tellico to get the commitments early.

Agreed, we need comittments and your $ to reserve the park by the next meeting. If we can't make it happen, new venue should be in order.

Re: Hardline @ River Rock ORV, September 12-14

Tell me how much and the checks in the mail. I would go a few bucks extra if we can't get 10.
Bailey talks highly of this place.

Re: Hardline @ River Rock ORV, September 12-14

So far we are looking at MattO , JohnG, Dolla Bill, I should be able to make it as well... anyone else jumpin on board at this time ?

Re: Hardline @ River Rock ORV, September 12-14

Yo, did you find out how the park works in terms of booking/reserving since it is not an "open ride". If it is something like Gray Rock where we have to put up $500+ as a group then we may need to re-evaulate with only 5 peeps going...

Re: Hardline @ River Rock ORV, September 12-14

I will contact them today... I havent looked into it as of yet. Will have answer's showtlee

Re: Hardline @ River Rock ORV, September 12-14

250 deposit to be there privately...

We arent going to have 10 rigs there unless we have outside invitations that are meet and people put up cash up front ya know what I mean...

Re: Hardline @ River Rock ORV, September 12-14

That is cool, their site says $500 to use the park, if we cannot get 10 rigs to go that is going to be a large cost for those that make it. Plus it is a 4.5 hour tow so if we cannot get a good group together for it then I say we look for something closer and cheaper. I would love to have Monteagle as a first alternate for this one....

Edit, P I would think we would do this just like KOTH course and invite people we are interested in. Let's talk about invites at the next meeting and then see if we can get to 10 peeps. If not, I say we immediately move to a closer and cheaper locale..

Re: Hardline @ River Rock ORV, September 12-14

Im already thinking closer / cheaper but who knows. I agree outside riders will need to be had to get this within budget and worth the effort. Not ever so much folks we want in the club, but hell we can invite a good # of people that we'd all like to ride with or get out in the trails with. Maybe some ATL locals like Alan or whtever. He's mentioned to me to hollar if we ever go out to RRock...

More folks the better $$ wise on this deal, with the tow and so forth its going to be another financial commitment type ride for us poor folk laughing1

Re: Hardline @ River Rock ORV, September 12-14

I think we should just call a spade a spade and say that we will not have 10 rigs at this ride. It is the weekend after a Gray Rock ride which means a lot of people will be out. I think River Rock would be fun for an open ride event, but I have heard that it is just not big enough to take up a full weekend and none of it is VERY hard.

Monteage is less than 3 hours from here, no cost to ride and we have a plethra of people willing to guide us. We could invite some prospects and a couple friends of Hardline from the TN area and be good to go. That is my vote, easy and much cheaper. I don't want to go to River Rock enough to spend $500+ on a trip there.....

Plus Ricky actually wants to go to Monteagle, which is a miracle in itself....

Re: Hardline @ River Rock ORV, September 12-14

Monteagle it is... Who we gonna have "guide" ?

Do you think ( I do ) we should move the date a bit to space it from the GrayRock ride. Lets face it, GrayRock rides are to easy to make it too, and if outta towners are coming in our backyards to wheel GR then you know we will all end up out there at least one day just cause its low cost and to easy of an excuse to go wheel. thumb.gif

Re: Hardline @ River Rock ORV, September 12-14

I don't think we should move it at this point. Most of us spend maybe $50 bucks on gas and entry for one day to a gray rock ride. Those that turn Gray Rock into a $200+ weekend will need to decide if they want to do that and miss the club ride, or try and scale back GR and attend Monteagle also. Personal choice and priority IMO. Monteagle will cost us about a tank or so of fuel and camping or hotel. Pretty cheap trip also. Plus there is no other time unless the end of Sept, then you have the same problem with rides behind it in Oct.

Re: Hardline @ River Rock ORV, September 12-14

Im more thinking in terms of maintenance on rigs or repairs and having time to do them. Dont matter to me either way, just throwin it out there...

Were's the rest of the interested parties, I mean **** Capt Carl is completely out we all know it he knows it and he's moving.

Joe's on re-deux again but will be back together, is he Turbo or No - Show :flipoff1:

Berries and thier opinions ?

JohnG thoughts..

Cole dont have a rig and doesnt count cause he's homo..

TK wont post anyway so we will have to wait until the meeting next weekish..

laughing1 Our group is predictable as **** isnt it...

Re: Hardline @ River Rock ORV, September 12-14

I know me and dad are in for Monteagle for sure. We've been wanting to go back for five years. As far as the date, depends on when we can get a guide.

Re: Hardline @ River Rock ORV, September 12-14

I will get with our guide, Jimmy at Essentially Offroad and see if this works for him. Don't forget about Dollar Bill and his beach wheeling ass.

I think Aime and Jamie, Jake, Grey Carey, etc. should be invited.

Captn Carl is gay and I don't care enough to vote him out, but his opinion does not count since he is a rigless Mobile citizen. :flipoff1: :flipoff1:
