IMO pre-registry works for people who are serious about the event. You pre-registered for KOH right? If I was considering event A or event B, and event B provided cheaper entry, guaranteed payout, a free T-shirt, I would pre-register and commit for it. Seeing how well the "prelude to King of Cable" went, I would be concerned with putting up all that effort to organize an event for 6 competitors. Pre-registry persuades people to commit
