We talked at the meeting last night and kicked around some ideas.

Four major rides, one a quarter. Then fill in with other day rides at local parks as each indvidual wants. There are now places to ride every weekend if you desire, and your pocketbook holds out!!!!

We discussed:

Clayton, OK - May time frame
Windrock - Fall leaf looking time frame
Harlan
Superlift, Arkansas

This thread is to throw out ideas and create a schedule.

Im good for those locations , I like them all and have not been to Windrock yet. :woot:

My schedule in '10 is looking wide the F open. :wtflol:

Looks good, we can always add an Iron Gap/Monteagle trip in to the mix if we feel the need into the year. I think we should go ahead and attach months to the rides so that we can plan around Cole's work schedule. I also think we shoud avoid holiday weekend rides as that interferes with family time and vacations, as well as avoiding big open ride weekends at our destinations as they will be packed.

Superlift ORV, Hot Springs, AK - Early March
Clayton, OK - Mid May is a great time of year
Harlan - July/August is best time of year for a dry trip
Windrock - Oct/Nov

I would say for Harlan & Windrock riding with a guide would be a good idea. I know my way around Hot Springs and Clayton pretty well.

Do we want to do a forum open ride at a local park in 2010?

I think if the forum asks for it, but with so many places to ride now, I don't think it is necessary.

Agreed, between the new and old parks that are close I think we can fill in to ride once a month or so.

Also for the trips I think the days we ride should be Friday/Saturday which means taking a Friday off and traveling up Thursday night. I think since it is only 4 days/year it should be doable. If you can't get off you can always come up Friday night and we can wheel some Sunday AM. Places like Clayton and Harlan allow night riding, so that is a big plus on getting more trail time!

X2 no need for it, look we are all local's on the forum's for the most part and ride at the same places with each other anyway several times a year. Just let it go big ride by ride and we can post who's in and out like usually what happens. thumb.gif
