Fixing to order 4 harness for the Cherokee. I'm 6'4" 300 90% torso. What experiences do y'all have with which brand harnesses? Pros, cons, etc...

Re:

Crow padded, prp 5.3 both kick ass.
3" laps with 2" shoulders are the best feel/fit. 3" shoulders are too wide and tend to chafe the neck

Im 6'2' 250 and have the prp 5.3, super comfortable, and every that rides with loves them.

had good luck with Corbeau and Crow (currently have crow in the buggy).

do not do camlocks.

To each his own, I love my camlocks, have them in everything. I like that I can put on my shoulders as I am going down the trail without having to remove the laps. I do carry a cutter, if I ever have a malfunction, but never needed.

of course, jmo. hate the fact they get dirty and don't work well. high maintenance. don't want to take the chance that one of kids can't get out fast enough.

That's one of my main concerns. My stock belt jammed and wouldn't release last weekend while I was upside down. Luckily everything was fine. But still had to get cut out.

Re:

Not to hijack the thread but is there a way to mount the shoulder harness to the floor safely. I don't have a harness bar because the truck has an exo cage and the factory belt locks at the wrong time alot.

Re:

What would you recommend? I thought of just a good 3" lap but know the shoulder belts are the best in a rollover.

I am running mastercraft harnesses with the latch style buckle. If you planing on doing any comps or races make sure whatever you buy will be event legal.

I would look at putting a bar right through the body side to side, on your b pillar of the exo. I know you just got the rig, and its got ac, little planning and a good grommet and I bet it'd be fine.

You might be able to sandwich the skin of the body with a plate on each side, couple bolts and tie the outside plates to the exo, running the harness bar side to side from the inside plates.

What kind of rules do they have on the harnesses? I'm considering doing some racing once I get all this done.

I love my prps. 2" shoulders and 3" lowers. I'm kinda big and the 2" uppers don't rub my neck raw. I've used them racing and ridi and won't ever buy another set.

I have rode in a few rigs including Mo's ole white truck with the crows, both very comfortable.

I am running an old style 3in RJS set with Corbeau pads, they aren't super bling or anything but work well for me and are comfortable.

I agree with John G, no matter what you run, you should keep something to cut yourself/passenger out if need be. I keep a knife with a harness cutter on the back side of the blade on one of my 4 shifters. I can reach it when fully strapped in.

My cutter is on the tail of the right shoulder harness on both buggies.
