Anybody do the haunted house thing? I just got back from Sloss for the first time, I had a blast. Never done anything like that before. I got to be first in the group so I had a lot of interaction. One spot you had to duck down into, and as soon as I did some guy put his face right up to mine and said in a quiet, creepy voice "what's up". It scared me, I jumped back for a second, then leaned in towards and said "Not much, you?" he replied in a more relaxed tone "Oh, same old same old...". laughing Hil-arious. Then I got us lost in the chain-link maze and lost my lead position. Good times. Anybody local been to Atrox? I'd like to go Wednesday if they're still open.

Lori is dragging me to Atrox tomorrow night with a bunch of people she works with. Went last year it is really good. Its better than Sloss in my opinion

I really want to make it to Atrox. I've been told going Wednesday night is a horrible idea, so I'm gonna make a few calls and I might go tomorrow instead.

Kansas City has the best haunted houses deal going of any city I've ever been or lived in.
There is an older warehouse district in the west bottoms, and about 15 of the old warehouses have been converted to Haunted Houses. We are talking 8-15 stories of scare per place.
Several of the same people/families/companies own multiples, so you can get a group buy. If you do one its $20, but you can do 3 for $50. Or some bullshit. And you can go through the same one twice in the same night and have a completely different experience.

But anyway, we are talking entire rooms where the floor spins, ropebridges that are two stories up that you have to cross, hallways that are tube that rotates, 8 story spiral slides, Graveyards that are an entire floor that ends up being a maze due to limited visability and tons of smoke/fog.

I took my wife 3 years ago when we were in KC in October, and she freaking loved it. She even brought it up this past Sunday while we were on the road saying that we'll have to fly to KC every October when our kids get to the age of enjoying them so they can experience Haunted Houses.

I think if you are from that area you take it for granted. There isn't anything even close here in Houston.

I had fun, I mean its not really that scary to me, but its fun, they have some neat things there.

First year I went to a haunted house I broke my little finger

2nd year I went bruised my right knee so badly I was on cruches for two weeks

3rd year I went I got knock out cold by some girl who totally freaked out and slamed me into a low hanging ceiling....

I lived in KC for about 5 years and never went to one of the spook houses in the bottoms. Theres were always huge lines and I was a big drinker back then, so I would go and get sloshed. Out in Lawrence Kansas theres a little town called Stull I think thats the name. We would never stop because all the locals says it was the entrance to gates of HELL. It was actually pretty creepy at night.

story says its BS......
I heard the church blew up or something back right after I got out of college. Not sure if it did or not, I haven't been through there since '98 or '99.

Story can say whatever, there was way too much crazy **** up with that tiny ass town, and that church.

EDIT: I just read the story, I guess the church is gone. WOW

The last time I went by it was around 95-96, buddy of mine had a small piece of land we used to campout on. I don't believe in gost and all that, but I have had some unexplained **** happen to me before.
Quick story- I was laying in my bed and I saw a silhoette come into my room (it was dark)I layed there and watched it go across the foot of my bed I thought it was my brother sneaking in to my room at night to mess with me. Anyways as I was watching it went into the bathroom ajoining my room and my brothers room. As it went into the bathroom I jumped up and yelled ha you didn't get me and ran to tackle my brother, but he was still in bed asleep. There was no time for him to jump into bed. I then blamed all my other family members for messing with me but they too were still asleep. Still to this day unsolved.
In the same room of my parents house a friend of mine was staying over and she swears that she woke up and saw some dead friends of hers standing at the foot of the bed. She didn't know about my experience until after her sighting.
Same house My brother inlaw and sister was staying there after they got married. He heard aloud noise jumped up to investigate. when he went into the kitchen he found one of there corsages thrown against the wall. No one else was in the house at that time.
