heater core

anybody have any advice on changing a heater core on a 95/95 jetta? All the info I find says to remove the whole dash and door panels and steering column and airbags. Is this correct or too much? what can a guy cheat on? Its a friends car and he is overwhelmed.:booo:

Here's a guide on a 2 liter car. Some shortcuts in the replies but it looks like you're pretty much going to be stripping the whole dash out.

Im not doing this one. I learned how to say NO a while ago!:haha: Its a good friend Paul, any of you that have been to my shop would know him as the skinny guy that tears down axles for me! He is having a good time on it. It took him alot of beer and smoke, but its going back together today!:cheer:
