This will be my Blog for the past weekend. Holy schnikes it was a good one.
Friday:
Work, well work sucks, but you do what you gotta do. Left it early to go wait in line at the DMV. I finally got all my paperwork approved for my little rat rod truck I'm building '42 Chevy. Let me tell you the fiasco. Former City of Oklahoma City truck, then sold and used a farm truck. I bought it from the farmers son in Oklahoma. It had an Arkansas title from 1963. My DMV tripped out about how old the title was and all this other red tape BS. You couldn't read the last number of the year, or the 2nd to last number of the ID. I ended up having to make rubbings of the "VIN". Pre 1955 all cars ID number was actually a block number. So whatever number was on the engine block was your "VIN" so if you ever swapped motors or blew a motor up the ID no longer matched. Luckily when the motor was swapped, I am assuming when it was still with City of OkC they stamped the fram underneith the passenger side rail. Lucky me. As it turns out its not a '40 but a '42 based on the numbers on the frame. Not like that matters they were nearly identicle from '40 to 48
In case anyone forgot here it is.
Day I got it
Close to how it sits now, just with more work done to it.
Saturday:
A group of hot rodders I hang out with, The Outkasts, were throwing their 1st ever car show here in Houston. The Bayou City Burnout. Turned out to be an incredible show for a 1st time event. Guys from Dallas and Austin drove in for it. Was really good to see old friends from out of town. A handful of bigname cars showed up. Close to 200 cars, and 100 bikes. There were a bunch of the Banditos that showed up as well (Like Hells Angels). I know one fairly well and never knew he was a 1% Motorcycle gang guy. Kinda tripped me out.
Drank a lot of beer and listened to the Sean Reefer band.
Heres the one and only pic I took yesterday. My '58 next to my buddy Blakes "A" he drove in from Austin with. I actually see him more now that he lives in Austin that i ever did when he actually lived here.
After the good carshow/Miller Lite/Lonestar buzz wore off I had to boogy to the Father-in-laws to watch the TCU/UT game and get my eat on. It was a freaking nice evening, so me and West sat out on the pier, fed the catfish and chilled (I drank a Miller Lite Chill, damn its kinda good)
Sunday:
GAME DAY! Texans, they have sucked for so long the only gametimes we have are noon games. Kinda hard to tailgate for those everytime. Most games we hit up 1 of two restuarants and have Mexican Brunch then roll to the game. Kill a single in the parking lot and roll in. Well today we decided to eat at Buffalo Grille, they have the best Migas on earth, period! Who do we meet while there, none other than Rudy Gulianni. He was shaking hands and kissing babies. So Tiffany, West, and I got a pic with him! Freaking awesome! Had it been Hillary I would have whipped out my **** and pissed on her pumps and manly suit pants.
So West's 1st game at 5 weeks old. Texans/ KC Chiefs. Was hard for me not to cheer for the Chiefs, but I';m a Texan now. Texans win 20-3. The Chefs were weak! I was disappointed in that.
Then leaving the game this assclown tried to race me in the wife's Tahoe. I had him for a long time then he slipped by.
Yes new Lambo. Plate said "Lamborghini Chicago" No idea, but it was still sick.
Tomorrow I have a 6:50am flight to Detroit. Going to spend some money.......BUGGY TIME!!!!
This weekend rocked for me, it beat the **** out of the last 5 where from Friday night until monday morning I sat at home with the wife and newborn cause well thats what we had to do. I love being a new dad, but I was going stircrazy. I don;t know how Tiffany does it staying home everyday with him.
