I have gone through most of my harness and have fixed a couple of known "bad" wires, coil wires that crossed over the exhaust burnt up! And I've been going through the rest of the harness and sensors testing, and I got one wire that is worrying me! This is on a 87 22re! I've been getting a 0.2 to 0.3 ohms on almost all the wires tested, but I got one on the connector that goes to the TPS, it's labeled E2, I think. Testing it between the connector and the harness end that plugs into the ECM, this "wire" is reading like 300 K-ohms. Which I'm new to this and I want to make sure it all works before I attempt to start it! I've got a simple Radio Shack multi tester that has auto range feature! No selecting 2, 20, 200, or 2000 whatever that all means! I'm told it has to do with decimal point!
Am I paranoid, or should I try and get it all hooked up and try reading the voltage at the ECM like in all the troubleshooting guide in the FSM, and see if the volts/ohmage match up to what it is supposed to be?
I'm all friggin nervous as hell on this, because this is a new motor and I don't want to screw it up, by not getting it to fire up right away! I teethed on carbs all my life and EFI is a whole new world that just confuses me, it all seems simple, and yet confusing all at the same time!
Any help you can give will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
