I've been seeing these heavy duty steel cutting circular saws around for a few years and figured they'd work good on thin stuff and I'd seen them used on tubing etc..

Well I had a salesman leave one here with me so I could try it on some thicker stock. THicker like say 1-1/2" plate! Cuts like butter! Hell, if I'd know these things worked this good I wouldn't have bought the plasma cutter....smoooooooth finish and no fumes! thumb.gif

Hmm, it's not cheap but it's not crazy expensive either.

I'll be able to give you some actual stress test reports shortly. We've got a modification job out here that I think will be a perfect test for this bad boy. I'll get a few phone shots and hopefully they'll upload.

Well I killed it! It was a sales demo and I tried what the salesman said I could try but it no longer works. I still love these things though! It'll eat up thick wall tubing and thin plate I'd say up to 1/2" thick or more like it's nothing. It would have to be great for hard to reach spots and locations or when you need a better cut than the plasma. We chopped up sticks of 2"x2" x 1/4" wall tubing with ease and 1-3/4" x .120 DOM doesn't even offer a challenge.

I was making cuts across 1-1/2" thick area in a framework and it was doing great....I thought I was letting it take it's time and letting it cool between cuts.....evidently not enough......it's fried.
