Just looking for some ideas to make a 2-3" body lift on my 84 with crap lying around the shop. I've got buddies with hockey pucks in there as a body lift. I have some ideas just wanted to see what other guys/gals have done to body lift their rigs.:beer:

In high school I made one out of 2x2x.25" tubing. Worked well and was severe overkill in the strength dept.

I built a 3/4" body lift by hole sawing pieces of HDPE (cutting board). That was for clearance issues, any body lift over an inch is fawking retarded and shouldbe left to dumb high school kids like I was back in the day.

Ya I'm having tire clearance issues and I have cut and smashed my floorboards in as far as I can and am still rubbing a little... 2" would be my max

Ifs or solid axle? If it's ifs give up and throw it away. If it's solid axle drill the front perches or change out the leaves to move the axle farther forward.

Hate to tell you brad but it's not the body lifts fault that that you truck doesnt wheel for ****. :;

It is a solid axle 84 ext cab, I have waggys in front so the axle is a little bit forward.

Swap in a set of 84-88 4x4 toyota rear springs, move your axle 2" farther forward, an increase ur approach angle. You will have to move your steering box forward, but if you still have push-pull, that would be a good time to upgrade to IFS box/highsteer.

Or you can buy a body lift for yota's on ebay for about $100 nowdays.

Moving the steering box is what I call a stupid tax. If you didn't have the fore thought to mount the steering box as far forward as you can the first time then you get to do it again this time doing it right. :flipoff:

Got a marine supply store around?

+ Miter saw = custom-height pucks that already have a 1/2" hole through the middle.

Don't really want to spend any money, I got a buddy that works for the T-Birds so hockey pucks may have to be the trick
