i run mine through the frame rails i have exhaust tube comming from frame rails to engine and radiator, approx 6" from where the hoses would normally attach... .. i don't filter, just make sure to clean out the frame rails before adding coolant... only problem, approx 10 gallon cooling capacity..... = $$$ when buying coolant...can send some pictures of mine tomorrow if you want. 205-335-1562
