how to change a CPS

Hey does anyone know any easy ways to replace the CPS on a 1993-1998 Grand Cherokee. I am on the verge of gas can, and a match.

Not that I know of, I see two bolts, but I cant see if they are Torx, or Allen head. and I am thinking that I will have to now remove the tranny, just to get to it. Worst part is that I am not even sure if CPS is the problem.

Do you have spark? If so, the CPS is fine. Could be Edrive (inverted torx)

Yes I have spark, but I told the dealer the problem, and they said it was most likely CPS. I was driving and it just died, and now won't start, not even a hint of starting.

Check for fuel pressure first then spritz a little gas into the throttle body and try firing it up. Also check the plugs.

I did the gas down the T-body, made no difference. I haven't checked the plugs, I wouldn't have thought that all the plugs would have fouled at once. I changed cap and rotor, I was thinking it might be the ignition module, but again I have spark.

Check the ignition rotor isn't cracked and spun. Had someone on another list with this prob. Drove him nuts for 3 months!

Is this 4.0 or 5.2 Grand Cherokee?

If you have spark, it's NOT CPS. Could be cam sensor problem (in distributor). CPS tells it when to fire coil (spark), cam sensor tells it when to fire injectors.
