Im pretty stupid when it comes to wirng. I need to get my turn signals hooked up so when everyone comes to P-town at christmas we can terrorize Paola in the jeep :woot: Anyway I already have a 3 position toggle and my lights but does anyway know a good link to figure out where to put the flasher and all that crap? I need a wiring for dummies book.

wire it just like a winch switch.
Get yourself a SPDT Center Off (Single Pull Double Throw w/ center off position)

The switch will look like ON "Left"-OFF-ON"Right"
SPDT Center Off, A special version of the standard SPDT switch. It has a third switching position in the center which is off. Momentary (ON)-OFF-(ON) versions are also available where the switch returns to the central off position when released.

Just use hand signals, wait that doesn't work well while holding a beer, card board arrow sign held up by passengers maybe? :dunno:

I guess how you wire it is going to come down to if you are using exsisting bulbs or building a stand alone harness and dedicated bulbs (meaning not using existing marker and stop bulbs for turn signals)

Old stuff has that little silver "blinker can" shoved into the fuse block. Wyatt he has a 3 pos switch. If you're going to make the "blink" yourself by fanning the switch use a return to center switch. If you're going to use a blinker can in line, use a detent switch of the same ilk.
Hot to center of switch. Each side of switch to each side of rig. On brake lights you have to use 2 separate runs that can't get back through each other. Each right and left turn is also a brake light. It will be much much much easier if you make blinkers a sep bulb and fan a return to center switch. If you want to make it a brake/turn light with a self blinking system it will take more work and an OE system, or getting a semi blinker and hose clamp it to the column, that is cheap and easy

^Jumbled, I know, but if you really want to know we can get it set up easy peasy or as complicated as you want

I want to run a blinker can , would the blinker wire between my hot and 3 position toggle? Then from the switch go to each side of rig, I really dont want to run seperate lights for rear brake and turn signals, my brakes use a pressure switvh plumbed into my brake lines now, it has 2 prongs one for hot and the other goes to rear brake lights, dont they have something you can wire in that wont let current back through, I could wire that in to the brake wiring so the turn signals would not bleed threw? Any of that make sense?

Speedway sells asetup that usese a momentary switch. the longer you hold the switch the longer the blinker stays on. they have a one light and two light version.

I'm thinking this would be best.
