My wife took her jeep to the Dodge dealership yesterday to have the oil changed and when she got home I decided to smoke it over. Well thats when I got pissed. First its way over full with oil, second I looked at the oil filter and its got old dust all over it. The basterd just drained the oil and put new in it with out even changing the oil filter. I grabbed the check sheet they provided and seen where he checked off wiper fluid OK. Its bone ass dry just like when she took it there. He checked off that windsheild is OK and its got a crack that runs from the passenger side to the Drivers side. I`m just pissed about this whole situation and plan on calling and talking with the service manager tomorrow. Just wondering how some of you would or have handled simular situations?

why do you take your jeep to a stealership? thats your first problem. especaily if its the free maint. I used to work at a dealer and although we were good compared to most i would NEVER go to a dealer. find a good local shop, make freinds with the ppl there and youll be set for life.

I Normally do my own work. I can usually expect there work to be a little messy but not just straight up neglectful.

I mainly just wanted them and tech to know that I know he is a pos basterd. Oh an get my 80.00 bones back cause they ain't touching my **** again. And maybe an oil filter so I can change it myself.

If your want something done right, do it yourself :dblthumb:

If you want to keep the warranty you can't. You have to have proof of the recommended maintenance and a receipt for the oil and filter doesn't count.

Re:

I am drunk to start this off. Peanut butter Porter showed back up. Secondly, dealers that offer maintenance programs should follow through with their work.

We bought a car with an unlimited mile warranty on power train. That means mileage on transmission and engine matters not, as long as we follow their recommendations. So far so good, but we always get them to put any replaced parts in a bag at the end of a service with a signature from the technician and his manager. Took an additional 40 minutes one time, but the warranty is still intact.

Eric Hagan......I mean Kel Lawrence

I would get pics of everything and send a email to Dodge main service office and let them know about this and the dealer maybe it would get them in trouble and they would do right next from now on

Just left the dealership. They redid the oil change. The service manager called the tech to the front and confronted him with the issue. We looked and he agreed he didn`t do anything but drain the oil. He was a young guy and I told him him he needed to tighten up. He looked very surprised when I told him how I could tell he didn`t change the oil filter. I told him yeah not all people that bring stuff in here to be worked on are dumbasses that can`t turn wrenches. The service manager sent him into his office and I left. Is What It Is..

Hopefully he takes the life lesson well and learns from it. We all make mistakes.....it's how we learn from our mistakes that make us who we are.

Sadly too many of those instances turn people into slack asses that feel the world owes them respect. Times haven't changed you still have to earn respect if you want respect.

I agree... Kinda did want a free Jeep hat for my wife but, I guess my whiteness just wouldn`t let me ask for a freebie. Crazy really. I have no problem getting on somebody`s ass when they need it but, its like pulling teeth for me to ask for some free ****. If they offer it I`m perfectly fine taking it but, just can`t ever seem to bring myself to ask for something like that even if in all honesty I think it would have been deserving.

I'd drive up to the dealership with the car and ask to speak to the service department manager. I would stay calm and point out everything that was done wrong. Come up with what you think they should do to make things right and tell him that is what you want. If you are calm and cool, I would guess you will get what you want as long as it is reasonable.

On a side note, I will never take any car I own to the dealership if I can prevent it. I am 40 yrs old and have never paid to have my oil changed once in my life. We bought my wife a new Highlander 1.5 yrs ago with free oil changes for the first two years. No thanks, I've been doing them myself.
