Are these still relevant? Currently looking to change the existing filter setup on my Smith buggy, which works great except it's completely exposed. Even with an outerwear I still don't feel great about water exposure while wheeling and especially towing in the rain. With the advanced setup I could just run an elbow facing down on the inlet side while cruising and cap it when towing.
The general rule was a healthy v8 needed two 8x15 or one 8x20. But that was more about desert racing and silt, and I doubt I could fit the 10x20.
Should I consider one 8x15 tucked in front of the passenger? An old post claimed it was 575 cfm, but without more data idk.

No real input other than that pictured setup reminds me of a bling bling version of my tractors air filter. :rolf:

What I use when towing for the open air filter element for our buggy is just a zip lock bag and reusable zip tie. It's low tech but a good protector from rain etc when on the trailer or parked outside overnight.
