Howe Steering Ram

Does anyone know why there is this much shaft still showing on my ram when its at full lock. The steering stops aren't hitting because I cut them off and the tires aren't hitting anything either. Do the Howe Rams have a limiter inside of them.

Unbolt the ends and cycle it left to right and see. Most don't fully collapse, mine does not

My guess would be internal stops. Maybe they have a single ram for 10 inch and 8 inch applications and just limit the 8 inch to keep down production costs???

No idea but just a guess.
