These things are as high as the damned lines themselves. That being said, is there one out there reasonable enough to justify purchasing one? I have 8 lines that need to be replaced on my tractor, need new lines for a buggy and I have a guy I know that has a bulldozer that needs lines and I'm sure I could find another human or two on here that needs some.

If that isn't the case and I truly don't need one. Does anyone round these parts have one?

I found one of these a few years ago on the cheap and snatched it up because I knew they were crazy expensive. http://www.ebay.com/itm/WEATHERHEAD-T400-HYDRAULIC-HOSE-CRIMPER-MACHINE-W-PUMP-/130500961006 It had been sitting in an old shed at this guys house on the dirt floor and it's nasty and rusty, but I think it will clean up fine I just need to take the time to do it. Mine has an Enerpac air over hydraulic foot pump. I have the bowl that holds the dies, but no dies. It'll cost about as much as I paid for the machine to buy a couple different dies, but I'll still be in it cheap enough to be worth it I think.

We have a gates 707 with integrated electric/hydraulic power pack. Dad go it like 20 years ago in an auction for a song, also a cabinet FULL of gates hydraulic fittings. I don't use it much, Dad wants to sell it but I'm dragging my feet as I have $500 in fittings and hose sitting there from pre rzr days when I actually built/wheeled real buggies

Sounds like I need to make a road trip up North for the lot

If you need the hoses replaced only and the fittings are still good just take a cut off wheel and cut the crimped on sleeve off but leave the fitting in the hose that way you don't lose your fitting direction. Go to hydrolic shop and just get the hose you need and a couple new crimps for the line and done its a lot cheaper than throwing away everything and starting over. That's how I do it on my case skidsteer and my steering lines.

The only problem with cutting off the old Ferrule and trying to put a new one on is a lot of places will not crimp them for you if you have to mix brands or if it is a mega crimp style fitting and they do not have specifications for depth of press when they put the new Ferrule on

We had one at my old shop we used for making AC hoses and hydraulic hoses that was hand held with a small built in hydraulic pump to really crimp those bastards on. A lot cheaper than a bench model and you could use it on the vehicle if needed. I will try to find out what the brand and model is and post it. in the meantime just letting you know that is an option over a bench model press.

Re:

I've found that if you get by without custom lengths or fittings, surplus center had some cheap hoses compared to places here.

I have a friend who's father had an old machine taking up space but can't convince him to get rid of it.
