Running a stock power steering pump for a cheve 350 and it is just to small of a resivior and not enough PSI, any body got any low bugget fixes?????

I ran a stock GM saginaw pump with factory tear drop reservoir for years with full hydro...never had a problem.

I am running a 2.5 diamater by 6.5 ram do you think that has any thing to do with my problem......?

Not sure...I've got a 2x8 ram with a saginaw pump, using a stock toyota ps resivore. I also have a decent sized cooler hooked up as well

That was only to contain the mess when on it's side or rolled over. It had nothing to do with volume.
Most buggies...years ago, before PSC, used factory saginaw pumps and reservoirs.

A cooler is in the near future..... I have many new things to try I will up date all with the results. Thank you for all of your imput. It has been very helpful!

I have been runing a stock gm pump for about 5 years now. Get yourself a pump off a full size van or early astro--they are an enclosed can with a nipple for a reservoir and get the res tank off the same unit. That will cure your problem without buying psc stuff...

Its a well known brand for steering stuff--I have used PSC on a couple rigs now and we are currently using it on the one I am building now....
Also on the donor rigs--make sure they are 87 and newer

From what I could tell they went to a serp belt--res style can--all v-groove belts used a standard can. As for the output presures--not 100% if they made a change..

Do you know what the pressure actually is? A Saginaw pump, working properly, should relief out at 1500 PSI.

I ended up drilling out the restrictor on my Stock GM pump when I added my ram. Helped quite a bit but now I need to add a cooler. Other than it works great.
