Yeah, steer it back and forth :redneck:

Start by steering it once or twice with the engine off, then fire it up and go from there. You won't hurt the pump as long as it stays wet and doesn't get too hot.

If it starts making the funny whining sound, shut the engine off and let it sit for about 10 minutes. Have a beer or whatever. Then check the fluid level, start her up and steer back and forth. Still whining? Time to shut her down and have another beer.

Lather, rince, repeat.

The PROPER way to bleed the steering is to jack the front end up, put it on jackstands, then with the engine OFF turn the steering wheel all the way to the right, then left until the bubbles in the resovoir stop coming up. (about 30 times back and forth, I am not shitting you)

Ditto, this is what the instructions that came with my PSC kit said to do.

I tried that and just wound up puking more fluid than was working its way into the system, so I said fawk it and started it up.

Definately has to be off the ground either way tho...
